On the evening of December 12, 2013, Prof. Michael Sandel, the world-renowned political philosopher who had been invited to attend the 36th Bowen Forum, delivered a “CUPL Open Course” for our teachers and students on campus. Prof. Sandel is a Fellow of American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the universal icon of contemporary Western Communitarianism Theory and the well-liked lecturer of the general course for the undergraduate in Harvard University, which is a highly recommended course in Harvard’s program of general educational curriculum named "Justice". His lecture provided reflections and uncertainties on the topic of “Technology and Humanity”.

It is the first time that live simulcast was achieved between Xueyuan Lu Campus in Haidian District and Xuefu Lu Campus in Changping District by using the simultaneous interpretation as well as the peer-to-peer (P2P) technology.
